Upcoming phones: The future smartphones of 2023

As technology continues to advance at an unprecedented rate, the year 2023 is expected to witness a plethora of new mobile phones that will revolutionize the way we communicate and interact with the world. In this Article, we'll be taking a look at the top 10 upcoming mobile phones of 2023.

1.Google Pixel Fold

Google hasn't confirmed this one, but the rumours surrounding the foldable pixel have been circling for a long time.

Rumours of the folding Google Pixel have been around since 2019, and the company still hasn't launched one or even confirmed that there's a release any time in the near future. Recent news on the device suggests Google isn't happy with it and has delayed its launch. It is expected to be a book-style foldable like the Galaxy Z Fold 4, but more compact. A leaked case model seems to confirm the design leaks are accurate, but physical evidence is still pretty thin on the ground.

2.Huawei Mate X3

The Mate XS 2 was launched in 2022, with the Mate X3 coming soon.

The foldable Mate XS 2 launched it back in Summer 2022, and the foldable Mate X3 is rumored to be coming as well. December 2022 has been considered a significant time frame but has yet to be confirmed. It is said to be slimmer and more durable than conventional products.

3.Oppo Find X6 Pro

The next flagship of the Find X series has an updated design and the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro will be one of the first phones to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform and is expected to launch in 2023. The leaked renders show a radical redesign, with a prominent circular camera in the middle. There are four new matte pastel colors on the back of the phone.

4.Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro

Xiaomi has already announced the first models in its 2023 flagship range, in China at least. We're still awaiting global launch, but the company has announced that new phones will be arriving in time for MWC in Barcelona at the end of February 2023. Both the 13 and 13 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and feature 120Hz refresh rates and impressive triple camera systems. Stay tuned for more news on the global launch.

5.OnePlus V Fold and V Flip

At its OnePlus 11 and Buds Pro 2 launch event, the manufacturer teased the upcoming launch of its first foldable phone(s), which are going to be launched in the third quarter of 2023. It's been rumoured that - like its parent company, Oppo, it will launch both horizontal and vertical (flip) style foldable smartphones. Beyond that, we don't know a huge amount, but it's safe to assume that they'll be tweaked versions of the Oppo Find N2 and Find N2 Flip.

6.Nothing Phone (2)

Nothing, Carl Bain's relatively new company, has announced a US expansion that will include a second-generation Nothing phone. According to the leaked information, the Nothing Phone (2) will be released sometime in the third quarter of 2023 and will use the flagship Snapdragon 8 chipset and a more powerful 5000 mAh battery. It's expected to be a major improvement over the Nothing Phone (1), which was mostly a mid-range phone with flashing lights on the back.

7.Apple iPhone 15 range

As surely as night follows day, Apple releases a new range of iPhones every year. iPhone 14 have just launched, and that means next year we'll see iPhone 15.

The iPhone 14 is still a new device, but there are already rumors about the next-gen iPhone 15. Apple has already confirmed the switch from Lightning to USB-C, but there are other rumors that Apple will switch from physical buttons to solid-state/haptic buttons. The next model will almost certainly be launched in September or October 2023.

8.Pixel G10/Pixel 7 Ultra

The Pixel G10 is a bit of a mystery device, in that all we've heard is that it's in the works and that has the same display as the 7 Pro.

After the rumors of the Pixel 7a series, another unannounced Pixel device has surfaced. A Pixel G10 has been spotted, but no one knows what it is. It should have a larger 6.7-inch QuadHD display than the Pixel 7 Pro, and maybe the Pixel 7 Ultra too, but we don't know for sure.

9.Google Pixel 7a 'family'

Almost as soon as the Pixel 7 was announced, the 7a series was teased on Amazon.

In something of a surprising move, Amazon offered up pre-registration for the 'Google Pixel 7a family' almost as soon as the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro were launched. This suggests a couple of things. First, that Amazon already knows the cheaper Pixel is in the works and second, that there could be more than one 'a' series phone this year. Could we see a smaller 7a and a larger 7a 'plus', perhaps?

10.Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Rumors are already swirling about Samsung's next foldable flagship, and it looks like Samsung is taking internal criticism and addressing some of the consumer pain points. One is the creasing of the display. The next model's display is said to have a prominent fall curve, avoiding noticeable creases and eliminating the gap when closed. It is also assumed that we will see a permanent S Pen slot on the body of the phone.
