If you're shopping for a new phone and fall into the latter category, there are a number of options to consider. It's easy to fall into the trap of researching iPhone cases from companies you've never heard of on Amazon. You may be tempted to buy the cheaper options available or a case with a nicer shape, but these may not be the best iPhone cases for your needs. We've tested some of the latest cases, covers and cases to find out which ones are really worth the money.

What's more, the Ultra Hybrid case is one of the most secure we've tried: it was almost impossible to take the iPhone apart when testing the new case. While they usually retail for $45, they are often available for $25 to $30.

The edges are slightly rougher than the Spigen cases, which means the Gripmunk cases have rough edges for lines, space displays, and more. There are also some solid color options if you want to go the real mainstream route (no shame), and these cases are also MagSafe compatible. If you're a minimalist and don't want to carry too much, you can drop your wallet and jump into the Smartish Wallet Slayer, which has the same hard edges and can hold three credit cards in the back.

They are transparent and opaque, the latter with an oily texture that makes the case look more luxurious than you might think. Organicore cases protect your iPhone from a two-meter drop, and their raised edges are the first line of defense against accidental bumps and knocks. The MagSafe accessories work well, but we didn't like the opaque cover on the ones we tested. It's best to stick with a flat wireless charger like Apple's, rather than vertical magnetic positions that can interfere with Earth's gravity.
